Mio’s Pizzeria

Often times when we travel I find my desire for adventure is shorter lasting then I thought. I long for the simple comforts of the idea of home. Usually we are adventurous eaters. We love trying local classics to a community even if that means we end up eating something that doesn’t suit our tastes….

Frisco Adventure Park

Frisco Adventure Park has much to offer like snow tubing, disc golf, Nordic Center, and lodge. But we were there for one reason: sledding. They have a great hill and we picked up a sled at Walmart before heading over. The best park about this place is the sledding is free! Be sure to book…

Liar o’the Bear Park

If your looking for a great starter spot for your family to hike I couldn’t suggest this place more. Clearly marked paths, well maintained signage, bathrooms, and picnicking areas. But what’s a Colorado hike if it doesn’t have great views! There is a quick hike to the top and great views of the river flowing…

William Frederick Hayden Park

I love local community hiking parks like William Frederick Hayden Park. It’s like a full immersion into the heart of a community via hiking. There were many paths to hike here and we decided to go without following a map which at some points I wish we would have spent a little more time familiarizing…

Broken Compass Brewing

Breweries abound in Colorado and are a favorite apres ski past time. Broken Compass was a perfect fit for us. Large picnic style tables with games made this a family friendly stop. They have a unique selection of beers but not food so be sure to bring your own!

Copper Mountain

Our first trip to Colorado for skiing turned out to be a great one. Copper Mountain took great care of us. The staff was attentive and helpful and we had a great day skiing the mountain. We also spent an evening ice skating on the lake and eating at a restaurant. This resort was great…

Red Rocks Park

We only spent a short time in Red Rocks Park, but it was certainly a rewarding investment. The views are absolutely stunning and the trails were perfect for our family. Be sure to check out the visitor center for a detailed map and a great introduction to the history of the amphitheatre.

Laurienzo Brick Oven Cafe

After a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain, Laurienzo Brick Oven Cafe will for now on be our go to spot. This place is a hidden gem! The food is excellent, with a laid back family friendly atmosphere. Long tables and games make this a great spot.

Sugar Loaf Mountain

One of our family’s favorite family travel activities is hiking. It is inexpensive if not free, active, beautiful, and adventurous. Sugarloaf Mountain is a great outdoor adventure and has several paths of varying challenge. Insider’s Tip: If you use Google Maps be sure to check out the map location before navigating. The day we went…

The Bible Museum

The Bible Museum has done an extraordinary job of presenting a historical account of the Bible in a way that will engage many people from different backgrounds and of all ages. There is so much to do and see here from interactive exhibits that tour you through the content of the story the Bible tells,…
